During the 2023 summer holidays, 18 Year 12 students from Bobby Moore Academy and 3 facilitators from Elevate Youth Voice attended our Young Designers programme which was kindly hosted by View Tube. Over 4 days members of the design team led 2 hour workshops on some of the key themes that are being explored on this project.
As well as finding out more about the project and sharing their priorities, attendees were given a taster of different careers in the built environment sector and the routes taken into these professions.
We covered 4 themes where we knew the young people’s input would be able to influence the design team’s thinking:
Landscape, access & movement
Climate resilient places
Places that work
Creativity, heritage & identity
We are really excited about the innovative and optimistic ideas the young people came up with and we will be working through all their content with the design team as the masterplanning process continues.
